Le Tour des Petits is a celebration to promote cycling and the activities surrounding the Tour de la Relève Internationale de Rimouski. If you are a local resident or visitor with children you are welcome to join us for the ride. The event will be held at the official site of the Tour, located at Arthur-Buies West Boulevard on Saturday July 9th, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.
Participants will have the chance to ride a lap of the criterium course along with the Honorary Chairman, city dignitaries and the current holders of the yellow jerseys from the Tour.
The goal of this event is to promote participation in cycling and share the passion for cycling with local children, our cycling future.

There will be animation for kids during the afernoon.
From July 8 to 12, the best cyclists aged 15 to 18 years from Quebec, Canada, the United States and Colombia will hit the roads of the Rimouski region for the sixth edition of Tour de la relève internationale de Rimouski.
A High-Quality Competition
Spectators will have the opportunity to enjoy close views of very high-quality races during select stages. This year, Tour de la relève internationale de Rimouski presents five stages over five days, in a small-scale Tour de France format. Athletes in the men and women Cadet categories (15-16 years old) and women Junior category (17-18 years old) will take part in the event. The cyclists will have to excel in a team time trial, a point-to-point road race, an individual time trial, a criterium, and an urban circuit road race including five strenuous climbs of Avenue de la Cathédrale, which is the queen stage of the event. The demanding routes will give the athletes the opportunity to truly experience an international-level cycling race and the people of the Rimouski area the privilege to witness impressive sporting achievements.

Tour de la relève internationale de Rimouski is a constantly-evolving event and again this year, several novelties enhance the event on different aspects.
First, the teams of cyclists and their staff members have the possibility to choose their type of accommodation in the region for the duration of the event this year. "In the previous years, the Tour organization offered an all-inclusive experience to the teams and several of them have expressed their desire to choose their type of accommodation. This decision will have an undeniable impact on the economic benefits for the whole Rimouski region, because these teams and their staff members will go to various hotels and restaurants during their stay with us", says the Tour general manager, Michel Fugère.
